A devoted pet owner pretends to eat dog food to encourage her Doberman to swallow his dinner.

When Keon Sims’ 12-year-old pooch Mozart was diagnosed with renal failure earlier in 2024, he started to lose his appetite.

Heartwarming footage shows Keon scooping out wet dog food from the can before lifting it to her lips and pretending to wolf it down.

Watching his mum ‘enjoy’ the meal, Mozart quickly follows suit and scoffs the food from her fork.

Keon, from Pontiac, Michigan, USA, said: “Mozart was diagnosed as having renal failure this year which sometimes effects his appetite.

“On bad days, I feed him by hand as he wants to please and he knows it makes me happy to eat.

“A few months ago he turned up his nose to dinner, so I started giving it to him by hand.

“My family and friends get a kick out of it and laugh but they all know how special Mozart is, so no one is surprised.

“He gets kisses, massages, extra treats, has two mattresses with a plush topper and has cost me more than I care to mention in vet bills. But he is worth it all.”
