Mount Kanlaon volcano seen emitting sulfur gas
The Mount Kanlaon volcano was seen emitting sulfur gas in the Philippines.
Timelapse footage captured from a nearby home shows the active stratovolcano spewing plumes at the crater as seen from the lowlands in Negros Oriental province on November 9.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) raised its alert level to two as its series of activities continued to be recorded.
Phivolcs also warned residents to prepare for ashfall as the plumes drift northward, affecting the majority of the island.
Resident Leah Marie Antolo said: 'The volcano has a good view from our house. I hope everyone stays safe during these times.'
Mount Kanlaon is an active volcano that has erupted multiple times. Its most recent eruptions have been relatively mild but still pose a risk to nearby communities.
