STORYLINE:
The Hungarian-Chinese Friendship Association and the China Cultural Center in Budapest inaugurated a photography exhibition, Links (Lancszemek), on Friday to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between Hungary and China.
The exhibition showcases 40 photographs selected from the China-Hungary "Links" Photography Competition, highlighting the shared cultural and natural heritage of the two nations while emphasizing their growing cultural ties.
SOUNDBITE 1 (English): JUDIT EVA NAGY, President of the Hungarian-Chinese Friendship Association
"We at the association believe that people-to-people relations are the most important and can serve as a great foundation in establishing good economic, diplomatic, and political relations as well."
SOUNDBITE 2 (Hungarian): ZSOLT HAMARITS, President of the Association of Hungarian Photographers
"We received from more than 140 participants over 1,000 submissions. Out of them, we had to choose those 40 we put on the walls. We saw nature photos, portraits, spectacular human expressions and relationships and we saw how Chinese people see Hungary, and how Hungarians see China. This was the most important part of it. And it was very interesting."
The exhibition will run until Jan. 15, 2025.
