China - November 21, 2024 11th World Internet Conference opens in east China's Wuzhen (Voice_over) The World Internet Conference ushers in a new decade. The 11th edition of the annual gathering focuses on a people-centered and AI-for-good digital future. In a video address during the opening ceremony, Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed China's commitment to working with countries worldwide to build a community with a shared future in cyberspace, ensuring that the internet serves the people and the world better. (Stand_up) Yang Jinghao, Reporter: "This year, artificial intelligence takes the center stage. At the expo named 'Light of the Internet', cutting-edge AI technologies are on display, showcasing how they are transforming people's lives." (Voice_over) Here, visitors can interact with various humanoid robots, experience AI-powered rehabilitation systems like this, or even receive TCM diagnoses and treatment advice with a smart device. The expo has also attracted tech companies from around the world to explore opportunities. And that way, we can have ethical AI for everyone everywhere around the world. We look to China for case studies that we can share with others around the world – as to how China has solved some of the problems that are confronting us." Together, we can perhaps come up with some sort of solution to the challenges that AI and all the technologies like that presents and also to make use of the opportunities." For us, the 5G programmable networks is a way of helping do that, and moving forward, 6G networks, the ubiquity of connectivity, hope to provide that capability."
