Young girl performs traditional Yingge dance in China
Guangdong, located in southern China, showcased a delightful scene on April 11, 2024. A young girl, surrounded by adults, enthusiastically performed the Yingge dance, a traditional folk dance popular in southeastern China.
The little performer held two sticks, moving them rhythmically as she danced with lively energy. Her vibrant performance captivated onlookers, earning comments like, “What an adorable and energetic child!” from Chinese netizens.
Yingge dance, deeply rooted in Guangdong’s Chaoshan region, is believed to have originated from ancient Chinese ritual dances called Nuo dances, which date back to the Zhou dynasty.
