Cat crashes flag-raising event, charms spectators at Tiananmen Square
This is the unexpected moment a playful cat suddenly joined the flag-bearing team as visitors awaited the flag-raising ceremony at Tiananmen Square.
On October 31, 2024, the early morning tranquility of Beijing's Tiananmen Square was momentarily disturbed when a cat wandered into the formation of flag bearers. The video captured the moment the cat, seemingly oblivious to the solemnity of the event, began to frolic around the legs of the guards.
Amid laughter from the crowd, a police officer gently scooped up the cat, removing it from the scene. The cat quickly became a local sensation.
According to bystanders, the police officer who removed the kitten from the ceremony later adopted it, ensuring it would have a safe home.
After the brief interruption, the flag-raising ceremony resumed smoothly, with the cat safely removed, leaving a lasting impression on those in attendance.
