Residents are experiencing the heaviest snowfall in over 100 years in Seoul, Korea.

Continuous snowfall has struck locals, filling pavements with heavy snow and reportedly disrupting public transportation while causing numerous road accidents in the area.

Footage shows people walking with umbrellas on November 28.

Trees along the sidewalks and a Christmas tree in the middle of the pavement were covered in thick white snow.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) recorded 16 cm (6.3 in) of snow on November 27, marking the heaviest daily snowfall in November since records began in 1907.

The previous record, set in 1966, was just 9.5 cm (3.7 in).

Local media reported that weather conditions are expected to worsen in parts of Yongin, south of Seoul, where snow accumulation has reached 47.5 cm (approximately 19 in).
