A massive fire engulfed a recycling warehouse in Bangkok, Thailand.

The inferno broke out at the facility where metal sheets and glass bottles were being stored on Soi Pracha Uthit 72 in the early hours of November 20.

The Thung Khru Fire and Rescue Station said they received a report at 1:25 am local time. They arrived to battle the raging blaze tearing through the warehouse made mostly of zinc sheets.

The flames were brought under control at 1:41 am and were fully extinguished three minutes later. Some 215 square feet (20 square metres) had been razed.

A fire department spokesman said: 'Initial assumptions are that the fire was caused by arson. No one was injured or killed at the scene.'

Fires in Thailand are relatively common due to aging electrical infrastructure, extensive use of wood in home construction, and regional heatwaves that can exacerbate fire risks. Rapid fire response can also be hampered in densely packed neighbourhoods where narrow streets can delay firefighting efforts.
