This is the heartwarming moment a driver rescued an owl stuck in his car grille.

The motorist was driving when he noticed the bird trapped in the front of his vehicle in Hubei, China, on November 10.

He and his family quickly stepped outside to help.

Footage shows the kind-hearted rescuer, wearing gloves, carefully freeing the owl's talons from the grille.

He then gently held the feathered creature and placed it on the ground, offering it a dead lizard to eat. However, the seemingly dazed young owl showed no interest in the snack.

The filmer said: 'Fortunately, it was unharmed and, after some time, fully recovered. We released it back into the wild, hoping it stays safe and sound!'

Owlets typically start leaving their nest by 12 weeks of age, gradually exploring their surroundings. By around 14 weeks, they usually venture away from their parents' territory.
