SOUNDBITE 1 (Arabic): IBRAHIM MANSOUR, Baker in Sidon
"The Israelis targeted Sidon three or four times but that was in the last two days before the ceasefire. It passed and I hope we will never have any wars again. No one wants war, we want peace. No one hopes to have a new year like the one that passed. I hope next year would be better without any problems, with a better economic situation and security. This is what anyone wishes."
SOUNDBITE 2 (Arabic): JOSEPH KADDOURA, Sidon resident and client of bakery
"I wish for the year 2025 that peace will prevail in all the region, the people be able to take a fresh breath of air and return to work so they would not be humiliated. I was working during the crisis in an active NGO and I felt that whatever you do with a displaced he will feel that he is humiliated while you are giving from your heart."
SOUNDBITE 3 (Arabic): ALI HACHICHO, Sidon resident
"For me as a Lebanese citizen I say every moment you live in this country is beautiful. War or peace they are memories you cannot forget. Lebanon is beautiful by its memories, by our daily life. Lebanon witnessed many events and we lived them all. I hope next year would be better for everyone. I wish success for all the people from all sects, wish them the best."
