US: 5-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Leads Parade in Batmobile to Spread Holiday Cheer
Hollywood, United States - December 05, 2024 Riding in the iconic Batmobile, 5-year-old cancer survivor Jacob Heitmeyer will lead the 5th Annual Gold Ribbon Parade of Hope on December 5, 2024, bringing joy to children battling cancer this holiday season. Hosted by the Mystic Force Foundation for Childhood Cancer in partnership with the Broward Sheriff's Office, the event honors young warriors like Jacob, a spirited 5-year-old from Coral Springs. Diagnosed at just 2 years old with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in May 2021, Jacob endured over two years of grueling treatments, including lumbar punctures, intravenous chemotherapy, and oral medication. This year, Jacob celebrates a remarkable milestone—ringing the bell to mark the end of his treatment and starting kindergarten. Now, he takes center stage as the superhero parade rolls through Hollywood, stopping at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and Broward Health Medical Center. The procession, featuring Batman, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, and Santa riding in the Hollywood Police SWAT vehicle, will deliver smiles to children watching from sidewalks and hospital windows. The event kicks off at 9:15 a.m. from the Target parking lot (3251 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, FL), spreading a message of hope and resilience to young fighters and their families.
