At least eight people have been killed and three others injured following the collapse of a six-story residential building in Cairo on Tuesday, according to the Egyptian Health Ministry.
The collapse occurred in the Abbassia neighborhood, located in the Al-Wayli district of the Egyptian capital. In response, the ministry deployed nine ambulances to the scene, and the victims were taken to a nearby hospital.
Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber Khalil has ordered the evacuation of nearby buildings as a precaution and established an engineering committee to investigate the cause of the collapse. Additionally, the Ministry of Social Solidarity has compiled a list of the victims to provide them with urgent financial support.
