This is the shocking moment a huge shark leapt out of the water onto a fisherman's boat.

The angler and his friends were aboard the Tongyeong Venus vessel when they caught the mako shark off the coast of South Gyeongsang, South Korea, on November 14.

Footage shows the man checking his tackle when the crazed predator unexpectedly jumped into the boat, striking him in the face.

The 220 lbs (100 kg) sea creature could be seen thrashing around until it eventually calmed down. The fishermen then approached the motionless 7ft marine creature before releasing it back overboard.

The angler, who sustained a scratch on his face when the shark hit him, said: 'It was a chilling experience. I have been fishing all of my life and a shark has never jumped into the boat.

'Perhaps this fish was so desperate to be caught it came to us.'
