This is the shocking moment a huge splash from a jet ski hit a group of tourists during a boat party.

CCTV footage shows six revellers enjoying a boat trip off the coast of Perth, Australia, when the speeding watercraft sent a plume of water crashing over the deck, soaking the passengers and their belongings.

The holidaymakers were drenched by the spray and left visibly shocked by what happened on January 13.

The force of the water was so strong that it even knocked a black container off a table and onto the deck.

Sundowner Boat Charters, the company that owns the rented boat, said: 'Way to go, idiot. Thanks for the deck wash, but you took out a table full of food, including the birthday cake.'

Residents have condemned the rider's behaviour, with some calling for personal watercraft to be banned.

However, others argued that the watercraft themselves are not the real issue, but rather the reckless behaviour of the individual riders.
