Lebanese Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi has said the security operations at Rafiq Hariri International Airport (BIA) in Beirut are running smoothly.
Mawlawi toured the airport on Thursday to assess the security measures in place ahead of the holiday season and assured that every effort is being made to avert any potential threats.

"All the inspections measures, whether for the arriving or departing passengers are strict, and particularly on cargoes, to make sure that the airport security department is doing its job and giving a good impression about Lebanon that all the Lebanese want a secure country where all the laws are applied, and this is reflected as a good image of the country for the world."
