STORYLINE:
At least four persons, including a child, died and 26 were injured when a bus fell into a deep gorge in India's northern hilly state of Uttarakhand on Wednesday, confirmed a cop over the phone.
The mishap occurred in the Bhimtal area of Nainital district of the state, as the bus driver took a sharp turn to avoid a car coming from the opposite direction, added the cop.
The death toll was feared to rise as some of the injured persons were said to be in critical condition.
The injured persons were rushed to a local hospital. Further details were awaited.
