Alashankou Port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region handled more than 216,000 passenger trips in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 69 percent, data released by the port showed.

"We've been innovating our service models, improving the efficiency of customs clearance services, and strengthening collaboration and communication with inspection units to ensure that passengers can enjoy more convenient and faster customs clearance services. In 2024, the highest number of inbound and outbound passengers at the port reached 320 on a single day, with a maximum of eight international shuttle buses on a single day."
