The Regent Street area was cordoned off amid a bomb threat in London on Wednesday afternoon.

Footage by George Atkins, an employee at a nearby store, shows authorities securing the area with their patrol vehicles while individuals evacuated on January 8.

Officials urged the public to clear one of the busiest shopping destinations as they continue investigating.

George said: 'I was working in the On store when police came in and told us to evacuate. We were directed to our meeting point behind the store, where we saw a grey bomb squad vehicle.

'Shortly after, we moved to Hanover Square, where there was a massive presence of police, ambulances, and fire engines.'

The Metropolitan Police have established cordons, with bomb disposal teams deployed to assess the situation.

Emergency services remain on high alert, with safety as their top priority.
