The man, who had fallen down a hill, sustained several injuries. While emergency medical services (EMS) and Life Flight had reached the scene, they were unable to extract the patient due to the area's challenging terrain. Clallam County authorities called for assistance from the Coast Guard, and a Port Angeles helicopter crew responded swiftly. The team hoisted the man from the rugged terrain and transferred him safely to a waiting Life Flight Network helicopter at a nearby logging road.
