Port Angeles, United States - January 08, 2025 The Coast Guard’s Air Station in Port Angeles came to the rescue earlier this week, assisting in a medevac mission for an injured man in the Hoh Valley near Olympic National Park. The man, who had fallen down a hill, sustained several injuries. While emergency medical services (EMS) and Life Flight had reached the scene, they were unable to extract the patient due to the area's challenging terrain. Clallam County authorities called for assistance from the Coast Guard, and a Port Angeles helicopter crew responded swiftly. The team hoisted the man from the rugged terrain and transferred him safely to a waiting Life Flight Network helicopter at a nearby logging road. The operation highlights the critical role of aircrews in assisting with difficult rescues in Washington State’s remote regions.
