Furious taxpayers protest by throwing cash at 'corrupt' government staff
This is the shocking moment furious taxpayers staged a protest by throwing cash at a government official in India.
Footage shows the mob of placard-wearing villagers hurling wads of cash at the government worker sitting with hands folded at his desk in Gujarat state, on January 12.
The protesters slammed him for his alleged inaction regarding the tainted water supply in the community. They also claimed the man had obtained his position through bribery.
One person was allegedly heard saying: 'How much money are you willing to accept? Take it and indulge!' as they continued to shower him with banknotes.
The scene was similar to when Sepp Blatter, the former FIFA president, was infamously showered with fake dollar bills during a 2015 press conference in Zurich.
The stunt was carried out by British comedian Simon Brodkin, also known as Lee Nelson, to protest corruption allegations surrounding FIFA under Blatter's leadership.
Brodkin interrupted the event, handed Blatter a stack of fake money, and declared it a 'bribe' for hosting the 2026 World Cup, before tossing the bills into the air.
