STORYLINE:

Mauritania, located in northwest Africa, is known as the "Desert Nation." Classified by the United Nations as one of the world's least-developed countries, it faces significant challenges, including limited healthcare infrastructure and a severe shortage of medical resources.

The 35th Chinese medical aid team, comprising 21 members, has been providing assistance in Mauritania since May 2023. They work across several key facilities, including the National Institute of Public Health, the Capital Hospital, the Friendship Hospital, and Kiffa Hospital.

Liu Sijia, a member of the 35th Chinese medical aid team, works in the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Department at Friendship Hospital in Mauritania. Her professional skills and dedication have earned her widespread praise from the local people. Despite being thousands of miles away from her family, she remains committed to providing care and hope to patients.
