On January 25, in a shopping mall in Shanghai, a security guard and staff members encountered a series of safety incidents while improperly transporting a table on an escalator, causing the table to get stuck.

Surveillance footage shows that as the security guard and staff reached a lower floor, the tilted table became lodged between the escalator's handrails. One security guard was pinned under the table. Two other guards helping to carry the table were also affected. Realizing the danger, they quickly tossed the table aside and retreated up the escalator to avoid the obstruction. Startled customers behind them ran in reverse up the escalator, leading to temporary chaos in the mall.

Fortunately, a quick-thinking staff member pressed the escalator’s emergency stop button, bringing the situation under control.

Luckily, no injuries were reported.
