On January 20, 2025, in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Sakhalin Oblast, Russia, a 22-year-old driver with one year of experience hit a woman and a nine-year-old girl at an unregulated pedestrian crossing while driving a Toyota Prius. The regional State Traffic Inspectorate reported that the driver was traveling south when the incident occurred. Both the woman and child sustained injuries, and authorities have launched an investigation into the accident.
