A helicopter rescue team saved a skier stranded on a slope in Spain.

The GREIM (Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group) and UHEL (Helicopter Unit) were swiftly deployed on February 4 to assist the holidaymaker, with the operation coordinated from the Guardia Civil's command centre.

Dramatic footage shows the emergency responders carrying out the rescue in the Loma Verde area near the Candanchu ski resort.

Authorities reported that the skier had veered off marked trails and became trapped on a steep, rocky slope.

Harsh weather conditions, including strong winds and snow, further complicated the rescue operation.

After several hours of effort, the team secured the skier's position and airlifted him to safety.

He was subsequently transported to a medical centre, where he was found to have minor bruises and was in good overall condition.
