Protesters against US President Donald Trump and 'special government employee' Elon Musk marched through Boston.

The demonstration took place on Wednesday, February 5, with activists voicing strong opposition to dismantling key government agencies.

They gathered on the steps of the Massachusetts State House, enduring temperatures below 20 degrees Fahrenheit for about an hour before moving to the windswept Boston Common.

The march continued through Suffolk University's urban campus and towards the John F. Kennedy Federal Building.

Musk supported Trump's candidacy and was appointed to co-lead the newly created nongovernmental task force, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

DOGE is currently working to reduce what it considers wasteful federal spending.

Demonstrators also called for keeping the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which oversees foreign aid, relief programs, and international development projects.

Musk announced plans to shut down the agency as part of DOGE's mission to streamline government operations.

The same activity, dubbed '50501'- 50 protests, 50 states, one day—was held simultaneously in Atlanta, Austin, and Philadelphia.
