Illegal immigrants arrived at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility as President Donald Trump continued a crackdown on crime.

Footage shows the military plane landing at the notorious U.S. naval base in Cuba carrying allegedly high-threat migrants.

The handcuffed detainees were escorted by officers off the aircraft and then loaded into a van to be transported to jail.

The U.S. Department of Defence said: 'The detention of these high-threat illegal aliens at Guantanamo Bay is a temporary measure, and the Department of Defence will continue to support the Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies in their efforts to facilitate the removal of the aliens as soon as possible.'

President Trump has intensified efforts to curb illegal immigration in his second term.

In his first 18 days back in office, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a staggering 11,000 individuals for being in the country illegally.
