President Trump's team visited the US border with Mexico amid his crackdown policy on illegals.

Footage shows the convoy led by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth arriving at the southern border in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, on February 3.

The defence secretary said: 'I can tell you this, because of President Donald Trump, this is a new era at the southern border.

'In foreign countries, guarding other people's borders. It's about time we secure our own border.

'One last thing, I want to give a shout out to commanders in the field who have executed rapidly with maximum professionalism.'

The Department of Defense command deployed more than 1,600 active-duty personnel on the southern US border and 2,500 already assigned.

In his first week in office, Trump signed an Executive Order that suspends the entry of illegal aliens into the U.S. across the southern border. This includes revoking the right for migrants to file asylum claims.
