A gas storage explosion injured two workers in South Korea.

The explosion occurred at a liquefied cargo storage tank at United Terminal Korea's factory in Cheoyong-ri, Onsan-eup, Ulsan, on February 10 at 11:15 am.

Footage shows thick black smoke billowing into the air from one of the huge containers.

Local media reported that one of the victims sustained serious injuries, while the other worker was slightly injured.

Both employees were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The fire department received a report of a fire and immediately sprang into action, reportedly mobilising 80 units and 124 personnel to extinguish the fire and carry out rescue operations.

A large-capacity rapid extinguishing system, capable of spraying 75,000 litres of water per minute up to 130 metres away, was also deployed to tackle the blaze.

United Terminal Korea operates a comprehensive liquid cargo terminal, handling tasks such as unloading, storage, and dispatch of liquid cargo.

A police investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
