Recovery workers removed debris three months on from devastating floods in Valencia.

The government crews have been conducting clearing operations following Storm DANA, which battered the region on October 29 last year.

Footage shows the teams employing excavators to clear the debris. They can be seen removing trash at a landfill in Picana and extracting vehicles from Barranco de Pelos.

Torrential rains battered Valencia, Spain, in late October. The ensuing floods resulted in more than 200 deaths, with several still missing, after intense downpours overwhelmed riverbanks, damaged infrastructure, and forced thousands to evacuate.

The freak weather was said to be caused by a phenomenon locally referred to as 'Depression Aislada en Niveles Altos' or DANA—an air mass that is colder than its surroundings at higher levels. The temperature difference creates an unstable atmosphere, triggering heavy rainfall in a very short period.
