This is the moment the Indian Coast Guard intercepted a Pakistani fishing boat during a night patrol in the Arabian Sea.

Footage shows coast guard personnel approaching the small vessel after it was spotted inside Indian waters near the International Maritime Boundary Line on January 14.

Authorities said the boat attempted to flee towards the Pakistan side after being challenged, but was intercepted and boarded by the patrol ship.

The Indian Coast Guard said in a statement: 'In a swift and precise night operation, an Indian Coast Guard Ship, whilst on patrol in the Arabian Sea, sighted a Pakistani fishing boat inside Indian waters near the International Maritime Boundary Line on 14 Jan 2026.

'On being challenged, the boat attempted to flee towards the Pakistani side; however, the ICG Ship intercepted and boarded the boat in Indian waters.

'A total of nine crew members were found on the Pakistani boat, AL-MADINA. The boat is being towed to Porbandar by an ICG Ship for thorough rummaging and joint interrogation by concerned agencies.

'The operation reaffirms ICG's unwavering commitment to secure Bharat's maritime frontiers through relentless vigil and law enforcement across the nation's maritime domain.'

India and Pakistan share a maritime boundary in the Arabian Sea, where fishing vessels are periodically detained for crossing into territorial waters.

A similar incident was reported in December last year, when the Indian Coast Guard apprehended 11 Pakistani fishermen after their boat, Al Wali, was found inside Indian waters near Jakhau without authorisation.
