Fireman rescues peacock from 70ft deep well in India
This is the heartwarming moment a fireman rescued a peacock from a 70ft deep well in India.
Locals witnessed the Indian Peafowl struggling to escape the borewell, prompting them to immediately contact the fire department on February 13.
Dramatic footage shows the fireman descending into the well with a rope secured around his waist.
Moments later, he climbed the rope with the unscathed feathered creature cradled in his arms.
The majestic creature was then carefully taken from the rescuer while other officials helped the man out of the well.
The bird was then reportedly given a medical evaluation and was eventually released back into its natural habitat.
Locals speculated that the animal had fallen into the well in the evening when it was dark.
The Indian Peafowl is the national bird of the country. It was declared the national bird in 1963 due to its rich religious and cultural significance in Indian traditions and mythology. The peacock is known for its vibrant plumage and majestic appearance, symbolising grace, beauty, and elegance.
