Yemen: Yemen stands with Palestine: protesters in Sanaa
Sana'a, Yemen - February 14, 2025 Yemenis on Friday rallied at the Al-Sabeen Square in the capital Sanaa to protest against U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to force Palestinians out of Gaza. The gathered crowds held protesting slogans and waved flags to demonstrate their support to the Palestinian people. "We came out today to affirm that we stand against the decision of the old man Trump. We are against the displacement of Palestinians from their land, and we stand with the Palestinian people until the last drop of free Yemeni blood. We will not stop supporting Gaza, no matter the cost," said a protester named Anwar Al-Shahari. "Our participation today is to tell our brothers in Palestine that we stand with you and remain steadfast against displacement. And to Trump's supporters, you will not be able to trade with Gaza or its people," said another demonstrator Abdullah Dhanan. Mohammed Al-Atifi, Minister of Defense in the Sanaa Government, read the protest statement before the demonstrators, "We pledge and promise that we, in the Yemeni armed forces, are ready to execute orders to target the American and Israeli enemies and carry out painful military strikes in support of our brothers in Gaza and to confront displacement." Trump proposed that the United States should take control of Gaza and that the Palestinians be relocated to neighboring Jordan and Egypt, which has been widely condemned.
