Sana'a, Yemen - July 18, 2024

Hundreds of students and teachers at Sanaa University in the Yemeni capital organized a rally on campus on Wednesday, raising banners in support of global student movements for Palestine and calling for an end to the war and the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza.

Sanaa University is one of the country's oldest public universities. Students and faculty gathered on the university's campus, holding up Yemeni and Palestinian flags and chanting slogans of solidarity.

Protesters also called for the boycott of American and Israeli products and for the international community to intervene and halt the killings of the Palestinian people in the besieged enclave.

The demonstration praised similar student movements in American and European universities, called on students from Arab and Islamic universities to break their silence and act in support of the Palestinian people, and demanded the intensification of military operations conducted by the Houthi group forces in the Red Sea and the Arabian Peninsula as well as in southern Israel.
