Taxi boot explodes at red light in China, driver escapes just in time
At around 8:38 am on 24th February in Qingdao, Shandong, a taxi waiting at a red light suddenly experienced an explosion in its boot. The blast sent parts of the vehicle flying due to the shockwave, prompting the driver to immediately exit the car and escape.
Following the explosion, the taxi was quickly engulfed in flames, with thick smoke billowing from the scene. Firefighters soon arrived and successfully extinguished the fire.
Reports indicate that the taxi had been modified from a petrol-powered vehicle to run on natural gas. Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the incident.
