Los Angeles, United States - February 24, 2025 02/24/2025 09:30 pm (GMT-0800) WESTMONT, Calif. – The Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Division units responded to the 1200 block of West 87th Street for reports of a shooting with a victim down Monday evening. When officers arrived at the scene, they located a Black adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to the hospital, where she was subsequently pronounced deceased. A second victim, a Black adult male, was shot in the foot and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. This shooting happened at the same location where the Sunday, Feb. 23, homicide occurred. That shooting left an adult male dead at the scene around 8 p.m. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has taken over the investigation and reported early Tuesday morning that a homicide investigation is underway into the shooting death of the female. It is unclear if the two shootings are related. The investigation is ongoing, and there is no further information at this time.
