US, Las Vegas: Las Vegas Fatal Collision Shuts Down Major Boulder Highway for Hours
Las Vegas, United States - March 01, 2025 03/01/2025 01:00 pm (GMT-0800) LAS VEGAS, Nev. – A vehicle collision resulted in the death of one driver, marking the 32nd traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year. The incident occurred around 1:10 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Boulder Highway and Dalhart Avenue. According to evidence at the scene, witness statements, and video surveillance, a Hyundai Sonata was stopped for a posted stop sign while traveling westbound on Dalhart Avenue. A Chrysler 300 was approaching from the north on Boulder Highway in the left travel lane. As the Hyundai began to move westbound into the intersection, it was struck on the driver’s side by the Chrysler, causing both vehicles to be redirected into the southbound travel lanes. Emergency medical personnel transported both drivers to Sunrise Trauma for advanced care. Despite lifesaving measures, the driver of the Hyundai succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Chrysler driver exhibited no signs of impairment and sustained minor injuries in the crash. On March 1, 2025, at approximately 1:10 p.m., a vehicle versus vehicle fatal traffic collision occurred on Boulder Highway and Dalhart Avenue. Evidence at the collision scene, witness statements, and video surveillance indicated a Hyundai Sonata was stopped for a posted stop sign westbound on Dalhart Avenue at Boulder Highway. A Chrysler 300 was traveling northbound on Boulder Highway in the left travel lane approaching Dalhart Avenue. The Hyundai began traveling westbound into the intersection and the path of the Chrysler. A collision occurred when the front of the Chrysler struck the driver’s side of the Hyundai. Both vehicles were redirected into the southbound travel lanes. Arriving medical personnel transported both drivers to Sunrise Trauma for advanced medical care. Despite lifesaving measures, the driver of the Hyundai succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical personnel at Sunrise Trauma. The driver of the Chrysler showed no signs of impairment and received minor injuries from the collision. This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
