This is the shocking moment a loose plastic bag floated into a motorcycle rider's helmet, blocking his view.

The rider was travelling along the highway when the clear polythene bag hovered onto the front of his headgear, almost causing him to lose balance on the Miura Peninsula in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, on February 25.

Footage shows the plastic bag drifting in the air from a minivan driving in front of him and obstructing his vision.

He immediately removed it but was unable to catch it before it blew away.

The motorcyclist said: 'I noticed a plastic bag and slowed down to avoid it, but suddenly, it flew up and smacked against my camera and helmet. After shaking it off, I started worrying about whether it had hit the windshield of the car behind me.

'I later ran into that car at a cherry blossom festival venue. When I apologised, they were actually more concerned about me, which brought me to tears.'
