A motorcycle overloaded with rolls of strings toppled over in the middle of rush hour traffic.

Footage shows the two-wheeler rider wobbling as he carried six piles of bags that contained plastic ropes while travelling along a road in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 7.

Due to his cargo's weight, the motorbiker swerved across lanes before stopping for a moment when the truck in front of him paused.

However, the motorist fell to his side when it was time to move again, prompting other drivers to help him.

Driver Kittikorn said: ‘He wasn't and moved on his way after we assisted him.'

Despite being one of the wealthiest countries in Asia, Thailand suffers from chronic underinvestment in its highways and education, contributing to its poor road safety levels. Only a handful of African countries are worse.

Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.
