At approximately 18:20 on 7th March, a sudden landslide occurred along a highway section in Yibin, Sichuan Province, sending a massive amount of soil and rocks tumbling onto the road. Fortunately, a passing car noticed signs of the landslide in time, and the driver swiftly applied the brakes, successfully avoiding the danger and preventing a potentially serious accident.

Following the incident, the Yibin Municipal Transport Bureau, in coordination with local police, implemented traffic control measures to ensure safety at the scene.

As of 10th March, emergency response teams have deployed 15 pieces of heavy machinery and 47 workers to carry out rescue and clearance operations across six designated areas. The debris covering the road has now been completely cleared.

Preliminary assessments suggest that continuous rainfall in recent days led to the sudden collapse of the steep roadside slopes along this highway section.
