Landslide crashes onto vehicles as heavy rain batters Vietnam
This is the shocking moment a landslide crashes onto vehicles following heavy rain in Vietnam.
Footage shows a convoy of vehicles on Highway 4D in Lao Cai when motorists inside a van noticed the mudslide, prompting them to run for safety on September 29.
Moments later, at least four men from the vehicle dashed away and sought shelter inside a nearby building, along with another bystander, as the earth came crashing down onto the cars below.
The van's door was seen coming off the four-wheeler, while another man rushed into the establishment.
Local media reported that the cars sustained broken windows and windshields, including a vehicle carrying two foreigners.
No fatalities were recorded, but at least two people were injured.
The road was then temporarily closed as authorities assessed the damage and ensured public safety.
The incident occurred as Typhoon Bualoi battered the country, with winds reaching 130 km/h, leaving at least 26 people dead and 22 missing.
