A stuffed pet dog and a horse left passing drivers baffled when they saw them on the road.

The pooch and the pony, who turned out to be beloved pets who were taxidermied when they died, were seen on the back of a pickup truck looking realistically alive in Manila, the Philippines, on March 9.

Footage shows the brown canine appearing to stare outside the cargo bed. Behind it, a brown pony stands, its front hooves fixed on the truck's roof.

Onlooker Myrrel Winter said the animals looked alive but realised what they were as they never moved under the sun's heat.

She said: 'I did not know that they taxidermy animals here. They looked so alive.'

Taxidermy is the art of preserving and stuffing dead animals to make them look lifelike.
