This is the amusing moment a pet rabbit leapt from a table into a trash can.

Footage captured by Ms Zang shows the adorable white and brown bunny walking towards the bin before hopping inside it in Hebei, China, on November 6.

It can be seen attempting to escape but was unsuccessful, leaving it stranded.

The stunned pet owner then approached the furry creature and saw that it was happily nibbling on vegetable leaves inside the grey garbage container.

The filmer said: 'He loves to hop inside the trash every time we throw away vegetable scraps.'

Rabbits' diets consist primarily of fresh hay, supplemented with leafy greens, high-quality pellets in moderation, fresh water, and occasional fruit treats.
