This is the heartwarming moment a cat stuck on a motorway bridge was rescued in Thailand.

The owner was searching for their pet when they spotted the feline stranded on the edge of the elevated road during the scorching 32 degrees Celsius heat in Petchaburi province.

The concerned keeper then contacted the Subdistrict Administrative Organisation (SAO) for assistance in retrieving the feline on August 26.

Two officials from the organisation arrived to assess the situation and decided to call the police to close one side of the road, allowing a manlift truck to operate safely amid traffic.

Footage shows animal rescuers manoeuvring the lorry alongside the bridge to reach the cat.

An officer can be seen aboard the platform, signalling the driver until he was in front of the visibly weak and distressed animal.

He then carefully lifted the cat onto the platform before descending.

The cat was safely returned to its owner.
