This is the impressive moment an athlete pulled off a single-leg squat followed by a backflip as part of the 'Ip Man Squat' challenge.

Footage captured by Mr Liu shows the young man, dressed in a black shirt, performing a pistol squat at a park before launching into a flip with one leg extended in Hunan, China.

He then landed on a single foot, immediately transitioning into another pistol squat with his hands extended forward to maintain balance on September 1.

The Ip Man Squat Challenge has become a trend in which participants perform an extremely low single-leg or pistol squat, testing their balance, leg strength, and flexibility.

Ip Man was a legendary Wing Chun martial arts master from China, famously known as Bruce Lee's teacher and the protagonist of the Ip Man film series.
