This video shows a tiny model village which has re-created author Beatrix Potter's former home.

The Lakeland Model Village features over 100 amazing tiny properties, which were all handcrafted using slate by builder Edward Robinson over the last 25 years.

Some of the miniature properties took six months to create and the village replicates iconic buildings - including author Beatrix Potter's former home in Sawrey, Cumbria.

Edward also replicated Bridge House in Ambleside - which is a 17th century stone house that was built on top of a bridge - and some of them took six months to create.

The model village was moved to Damson Dene Hotel and Leisure Club in Crosthwaite, Cumbria, last summer after Edward retired.

The hotel's owner Jonathan Denby said: "When I heard that the buildings from the model village were available, I didn't hesitate in securing them."

"The model buildings are almost as iconic as the originals they replicate, and we had the perfect location at The Damson Dene to display them for the public to enjoy."
