A Chinese man was rescued after strong winds slammed a cold storage freezer door shut, trapping him inside.

The worker became stuck in the minus 10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit) room when the powerful gust sealed the door in Henan, China, on March 14.

Upon hearing his colleague's cries for help, a rescuer quickly unlocked the door.

CCTV footage shows the employee being freed, narrowly avoiding a life-threatening situation.

The man reportedly did not sustain any injuries from the incident.

The rescuer said: 'If I hadn't heard him, he could have died in there.'
