A firefighting helicopter assisted in battling forest fires in Mexico.

The wildfire had consumed more than 100 hectares of pine-oak forest by Wednesday noon in Santo Domingo Hill, Tepoztlan, on March 26.

The Unified Forest Fire Command reports that the blaze is 40 per cent controlled and 30 per cent contained.

Dramatic footage shows a mountain engulfed in fierce orange flames on Tuesday.

Forest brigade members from various groups, including volunteers, were deployed across three operational divisions on the eastern and western fronts, focusing on Oxtopulco.

Authorities confirmed that the fire posed no immediate threat to nearby homes. However, they are closely monitoring critical areas to prevent further risks. They urged the public not to join firefighting efforts without proper training or experience.

The fire erupted on Monday around 6 pm and is believed to have been caused by human activity.
