SpaceX rockets seen spinning across night sky in Spain
This is the spectacular moment a glowing blue spiral from a SpaceX rocket appeared in the night sky over Spain.
The rocket was launched for the NROL-69 mission, carrying a US satellite into low Earth orbit over Estepa, Sevilla, on March 25 evening.
Footage shows the distinct, fast-moving vortex hovering in the air, leaving onlookers in awe.
Stunned residents watched as the glowing whirl lit up the night sky, sparking curiosity and speculation, with some even mistaking it for a UFO.
Experts believe the phenomenon is linked to a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch, as similar spirals have been observed worldwide following such missions.
These luminous formations are typically caused by the rocket's reaction control system (RCS), which uses small thrusters to adjust the spacecraft's orientation. During this process, excess propellant is sometimes released, creating the distinctive glowing patterns in the atmosphere.
Since its founding in 2002, SpaceX has regularly produced mesmerizing displays as it continues to push the boundaries of space exploration.
Elon Musk, an entrepreneur and business magnate, founded SpaceX in 2002. The private aerospace manufacturer and space transportation company is dedicated to revolutionising space travel and making humanity a multiplanetary species.
SpaceX has achieved numerous milestones, including launching the first privately funded spacecraft to reach orbit, the first to dock with the ISS, and the first to send astronauts into space from American soil since the Space Shuttle programme.
