Children learn how to walk in platform heels at modeling classes in the Philippines
Astonishing footage shows how children learn how to walk in platform heels at modeling classes in the Philippines.
The youngsters aged nine to 13 enroll in the finishing school to hone their runway strides in preparation for upcoming shows, where they hope to catch the eye of talent scouts.
Footage shows five talented girls wearing 6.5-inch heels executing synchronized movements to music on April 1 in the wealthy Davoa region of the tropical archipelago.
They can be seen posing and gracefully rotating, one hand placed on their head and the other on their waist.
In another clip, the girls named Margaux, 11, Bless, 10, Akeelah, 9, Eiya, 13, and Abby, 13, are seen modeling side by side before striking individual poses.
Modeling in the Philippines has flourished, driven by a vibrant entertainment and fashion industry, as well as increasing global demand for Filipino talent.
Filipino models like Kelsey Merritt, the first Filipina to walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, and Hannah Locsin, who has strutted for luxury brands such as Gucci and Givenchy, have gained international recognition.
Other successful models include Monika Sta. Maria, a finalist in Asia's Next Top Model, and Maureen Wroblewitz, the first Filipina winner of the competition.
The Philippines has also established itself as a beauty pageant powerhouse, with Miss Universe titleholders Pia Wurtzbach in 2015, Catriona Gray in 2018, and Gloria Diaz in 1969.
