Ibiza, Spain - April 03, 2025 Two Civil Guards rescued a boat captain during a fierce storm that hit Ibiza on April 3, after the man refused to abandon his stranded vessel. The Guardia Civil received an alert from Santa Eulalia’s Local Police about a boat in distress, grounded on the coast with a broken mast amid heavy waves. The captain was still inside and unwilling to leave, according to a statement from the armed institute. When the officers arrived, they saw the man appeared dazed and had moved outside the boat, seemingly intent on jumping into the sea. Facing this dangerous situation, the guards gave the captain instructions before he could leap. They then jumped in to save him, reached him, and brought him safely to shore. The captain explained that he had hit his head hard due to the rough waves and had been unconscious for hours, leaving him disoriented and in severe pain. He was taken to Can Misses Hospital for a medical checkup due to the head injury sustained during the storm.
